Get Outside!

Capturing Memories

How do you like to spend time outside with your family? What outdoor activities do you enjoy together? Is there an outdoor activity you personally enjoy that you can share with your family or with a friend?

With the warmer weather, I’m enjoying spending more time outdoors. Additionally, spending time as a family outdoors is a great place to strengthen family bonds and create memories. Have you documented those outdoor memories?

Take pictures of your favorite outdoor activities: group and individual activities. Admittedly, I don’t always think to pull out my camera in the moment. However, I am grateful for the moments I have captured with my camera. I love looking through memories of activities we’ve enjoyed together as a family and favorite activities of individual family members.

Additionally, writing about those favorite memories can help retain them. Especially, writing down the activities the children enjoy as they grow. Furthermore, looking back, it’s fun to remember what they used to do or recognize activities they still enjoy.

Combine the photos with writing and create a memory book. Having a physical book, the family can look through and enjoy and reminisce about is a good way to share those memories. Also, having memories to look through encourages the desire to create more memories together.

I’ve included a list of some of our family’s favorite outdoor activities. They may not appeal to every family and that’s OK. Come up with a list of outdoor activities that appeal to your family and get outside!
